Watch Gakkou No Kaidan

Just before

JUST BEFORE
The end of the year!
Just before we go again! Just before the break to finish!

so I need to tell you, tell me. That every day of this adventure of creating my fruit farm, is a day of experiences, discoveries and exchanges, love.
Just tell you again and again that I am conscious of the immense privilege.
Just tell you that I grew up and that is a joy.
Just as I tell you thank you for giving me this! And your offering is generating creative and love.
And if tomorrow, our adventure confirms a utopia, all that is acquired is in our hearts and no one can erase it.
And if tomorrow, on the contrary, our adventure explodes in its correctness, we will know deep in our intimate utopia is a reality and that nothing can prevent us from creating, to go beyond what seems possible.
Then just before we make merry and celebrate divinity, then the new year, tell you how, we still need courage, confidence, determination and love. How we must be vigilant to identify our fears and reassure them. How we need to be clairvoyant. How we need to take care of each other. How our earth is precious.

soon in your AMAP your distributions. Watch for postings of my farm, they will advise you specifically on the conduct of the 2009 season.

2008-12 2008-11 Rest

REST
Nature is in her period of rest! Water is
this year generous. So it will end up compromising the future harvests! With the rains of recent days, new beds of strawberries are almost under water. In fact, I had planted in a plot (I had that opportunity here) that the risk of flooding. Already rains and holidays, the water was rising so quickly (this is the exhaust stream that overflows) that it had raised plastic mulch, swept the tips of the flower bed. The fence had kept the marks of this rising sea full of weeds and branches were hung on pegs and the son and of course just tripped. BEFORE THE FLOOD

AFTER

Fortunately I had foreseen this and have made substantial mounds on which are planted strawberries. The point is that the water level begins to decrease before freezing for example! It is imperative that the roots are ressuyées as quickly as possible (maximum 2-3 days) if there asphyxiation and death! in all cases the sheets are filled and there would have been enough to fill 10 pools!!
( history of this basin )

Luckily, the tornado of Charlier shunned my gardens!
And then the rest is also me! In all cases in farm work. Finally we agree on standing, I take this time to put everything plumb: repairing electric fences, cleaning out ditches, repairing and organizing supplies, clean the surrounding gardens, removing crop residues non-degradable materials (plastics , scrap) and especially preparing the upcoming season.

It was not planned that Lucien have surgery for a benign tumor the size of an egg, between the ear and brain. And especially considering there was no indication that it would last so long. To date, it is still in intensive care at the hospital Timone Marseille. Only an hour's visit in late afternoon. So every day of 240km car train schedules do not fall into the right niche! Fortunately Lucien's family is there and very very helpful. The news is a little better and we are full of energy.
So, I suggest not really in my farm. I hope to catch it all when everything will get better.

contracts will be signed in February 2009 and the first strawberries will arrive late April / early May
The management group has not yet decided on its cost. There are a lot of work on the definition of the real cost of the contract. Three members of the group meet next week! But he is sure there will be some increase! AMAP
All my supporters have their general meetings. I attended 2 only. But it appears they all have the same problem: lack of participation of its members. AMAP in Dracénie has managed to find a scheme to bring in the steering committee members and is really great. AMAP at the individual level, it is certainly contracts with farmers, but collectively it is essential that it works! Otherwise it is doomed to failure! Everyone should bring something: it takes the "raw" to create, invent new energy .... etc. All in all our standard, we must be brave to go in good conscience towards this goal: to keep the gardens that feed us closest to our families. Even if you think you have nothing to put in AMAP except your contracts with our farmers, start now! You have something unique that you will at one time or another to advance a little more in our goal.
The last weekend of November (just before the operation of Lucien), with my friends arborists in AMAP Daniel and Fred, we held a meeting of arbo-amap in Carpentras. There were about 25 of France. And For three days we could exchange our production techniques, our experiences on our AMAP, etc. .... Once I had confirmation of technology as I started to put in place to limit the effects of late frost on flowering peach trees. And I have explained how we have implemented in the management group to calculate the contract price, etc. ... It came out very clear, now real fruit ( with taste and variety) is not found are consolidated and that the search for these fruits.

The arbo is even more subject to climatic hazards which continually jostle our gardens.
In 2008, after having had some frost, hail were done on the remains! How can they pass to the next season? Under the current system does nothing to solve this kind of disaster. And the price per kilo is so low that the farmer can not "make reservations" in good years to survive in years like this. The AMAP
have a role to play.
