"Alzheimer talk to me in art" part of the program of accompaniment and support to people affected by Alzheimer's disease conducted in 2008 by LINC Lunel countries, initiated by Fabien Boissonade, host- LINC coordinator.

Painting is offered as support meetings at three workshop sessions where people are invited to participate in pairs CG helped. ARATOUSAGES becomes a partner in this experience through the General Council under the program "Ageing Well in the Hérault" .

Propose an experiment Intergenerational meeting between parents frail adults and their families through artistic activity focusing on the nonverbal dimension.

This is a targeted action without treatment.

discipline plastic proposed as support for meeting and communication, is one of abstract painting (not figurative). Abstract painting can begin its work, leaving aside the concern of the result, for this focus on the action of painting itself. It can be addressed collectively (two or three people working on one sheet) or individual according to the wishes of the participants.

pedagogy, methodology and procedures of 3 workshops

The methodology is based on a pedagogy of creation that allows each participant to capture "the way "the artistic medium and gradually build its own expressive universe. This pedagogy aims to highlight the identity and history of the individual in the idea to perform work on the image of the person (the image perceived by itself and the image perceived by others) .

The collective work can focus on the use of language as a medium to explore the relation to each other in the sharing of territories: listening, respecting the choices of another of its space, identity and acceptance and value of its present capabilities. The report of the body, gesture, spontaneity of gesture, the pleasure of making and doing together are the heart of the process.

March 18, 2008 1st session: Collage and gestures. For an approach to abstract painting.

Work individually. The instructions concern the procedures to provide benchmarks for everyone to understand painting. The bonding can appropriate the space starting form, which helps the composition. The gesture helps relieve hand and discuss the painting as a bodily act.

The first three works have been carried out by Raymond, who has a regular practice of a style all his own. The latter is carried out by his female companion.

Jacques performs two works very different from one another. The first intimate, more in his image, according to his own desires and its history. The second, experimental, open to other possibilities of expression and in my opinion, imbued with the energy of the works carried out around him.

Jacques is accompanied by his beautiful daughter, who, without doubt, proved a great "amateur" of abstract painting! (Above)

2nd session: Sharing territories. Speak colors.

Work in pairs. Share the sheet to learn to listen differently. This is a technique of nonverbal communication. The caregiver is guided by the person being cared for: it for her to dictate its rules. The person experiencing loss can thus assert its own resources and abilities of expression.

April 8, 2008 3rd session: Sharing territories. View horizons.

Participants may change their buddy if they wish. A large white sheet is installed on an easel, participants are invited to leave a trace. The purpose of this third meeting is to bring everyone to assert its place in the group, expressed in the eyes of others.

2 years, Malena Merlo, painter and animator, occurs at the Reception House Rural Seniors Viols le Fort. It runs a paint shop once a week. The ladies who participate in this workshop were not necessarily enthusiastic at the beginning: it took awaken their desire ... Gradually, each has found his own way of viewing the painting. This documentary shows us the last session with Malena, who is going to create new workshops elsewhere. She leaves, but she makes sure to pass the baton.
