What is the purpose and meaning of these art workshops? Is Art Therapy? Is it replicable experiences? What impact on the lives of the elderly weakened by losses due to aging or isolation? And the person with dementia?
The idea of linking old and creativity is not new: it is known that old age is conducive to creativity. Yet this does not translate enough into professional practices in the aid relationship, nor conveyed in the image of the older person within our society.
It becomes necessary to avoid the stigma of the loss and focus around the relationship of these resources and capabilities of the individual. The ability to express themselves other than by word is part of these resources. Regardless of whether this expression is artistic in nature or not ...
