News from the field in early 2011 under the snow

late December, the family of Adrian (Philip, Arlene and Anaïs) fell from Mayenne to help dismantle the last emissions. Anthony, another vegetable that is being installed, and Gregory and Gilles also came to lend us a hand.

In January, we began to cultivate our first greenhouse, with the planting of carrots and turnips and planting leeks of spring. In the field, we planted the first salads. The remaining plants continues to grow in the greenhouse farming.

Outside, we have a big problem with rabbits that eat the past few weeks the first leaves of the garlic that we planted. Next week, we bring a master browser, which will remove the rabbits from their many burrows, using their ferrets.

This week, we did achieve our two boreholes which will allow us to water our vegetables. The administrative path has again been long in order to obtain the necessary permits.

Quality approach in BTS Assistant Manager SME PMI

The BTS Assistant Gestion PME PMI to Meet the players in the area

interns BTS Assistant Management Small Medium Business of the Rural Family House of Bagotière visited on Tuesday 25 January 2011, the AD GENE laboratory located in Thury Harcourt.

The visit forms part of their course on the theme of Quality. The quality approach is in fact a module especially important in the formation of Manager Wizard.

In addition, LIM is keen to stay in constant touch with professionals to enhance its contributions to youth.

Ad gene is a laboratory for environmental testing, independent, specialized in safety. It is COFRAC in safety by microbiology and molecular biology.

The laboratory has just moved into brand new premises and more spacious.

Mrs Alison Hamelin, Director Finance and Administration, presented the group's corporate history and commitment to quality. The students then visited the new premises.

This visit was very rewarding for the group. On the one hand, young people have discovered how a laboratory and other First, they better understood the stakes of the quality approach for a company. Finally, this visit strengthens ties between the LIM to its territory.

Young on the screen , parents on edge! "

Young-screen, step parents! "

C e Thursday, January 20, 2011, The Student Services BTSA in Rural Areas of the Rural Family House Bagotière were rewarded by the MSA (MSA) for their project "Youth at the screen, step parents! .

The MSA Normandy coast, represented by its president, Madame Quesnel , honored the winners of the three LIM 2010 call for projects, including Bagotière.

Many elected officials attended, including the MSA Rémy Guilleux (MSA national UNAF) and Ms. Béchade correspondent MSA who supported the youth in their projects, members of the Board Directors and team Teaching LIM.

Indeed, as part of their training, students have performed an action in which parents and youth were involved, about an important topic in everyday life and often confrontational.

This was the theme of prevention of risks related to new media.

studies qualitative and quantitative comparisons were conducted on the uses of the 200 youth in the LIM domain of mobile phones, television, Internet and video games and the perception of their parents.

A debate between parents and students helped everyone to reflect and better understand the expectations of the other part of the General Assembly.

For 2011, students BTSA SER participate in three new projects:

A study on alcohol and young people, carrying a poster for the event FIESTA BUSH organized by the Regional Rural Families Federation June 18, 2011 at Evrecy and implementation up an entertainment program in the computer field for the town of Mesnil Patry in the Bessin.

Female Garroting Female

No letter in November 2010 letter

And after the 52nd?

beginning of each week, I print my roadmap of the week! She is a virgin with boxes: temperatures, amendments, salaries, hours employed, etc. ..... and on top of course the date, number! and there it ends well by reaching the 52. Fifty second week of 2010! I do not like it at all and still can not rejoice, 1. And yet this one is the beginning, everything has to recreate everything surprises, everything is possible! Well, no, I want it to stop just about 50 or even 46! history to run at large, to drift, let go ..... but not what happens 52, tirelessly! Before I even knew, finally I had not realized that there were 52 weeks in a year! I saw that changed my age! But to count weeks .... it freaks me out the drone. Fortunately, with this 52, I can measure and quantify the work that is second to none! Yes it is good
How you live, this 52nd You? oh there is not yet! So maybe my fairy will retain a bit. For now, I have a cold, it's time to shit and I'm planting strawberries!

Still Strawberries! But hey there's all these special! another invention of the modern world. Seedling plants purchased and prepared by the cold for the flowers rise to be greater (as all other plants that I buy elsewhere! Is cold, like give them a little bit of freezing!) but this is reduced to 4 months of culture in the flowerbeds. That means a good weeding / cleaning and less. But good in my conditions, I do not know if we win too. Then I do a test. It's called mini tray plants!! and then with this burst, this time and all I can tell you my point even not like a turtle, but square like a snail (it is well known that A is much slower than the A! No?) but hey, at least I savouououre.

Apart from that, I'm super happy. I have not spent more than I expected. I made the planned investments. I just received from cuts in the msa 2206 € to overcome the consequences of flooding, I just find stuff opportunities that will help me my sentence, I'm going on holiday on Tuesday for a week! so anyway, it could happen this 52nd! I will not let me.
And then Wednesday night, my management group (2 or 3 of each amapiens my amap) met to analyze the 2010 season and give guidance for 2011! oh that's for words! In fact, a strip at the top super amapiens met with me about a soup, pork, cakes and red wine, to discuss the case. And the reality is that each tells its sauce, of course on all the figures I gave, as ideas emerge, as they say it like it is right and wrong and in the end we decide how we will try to do it for 1 to 52nd 2011.
results: *
the contract price does not move and remains at € 550
* is on the number of contracts that will fall upon the turnover needed to move to the next season with confidence, with a maximum of 112 as in 2009 *
signing contracts begins in February and everyone same time (old and new) I would remind you that check cashing is done every two months, from February to December, to allow me to have the cash in February and April, months when expenses are more important
* com will be made in your amap in this sense that the signature does not drag on four months. This season, we will not run with the old for them to finally decided in May to renew their contract. If financial difficulties are the reasons for delays, tell you! *
money coming from government is a reserve for work directly related to flooding
At this meeting, the president of colibris83, but yes our Michel Berthelot has specifically asked the treasurer of colibris83 no less adored Roger Dutruc-Rosset to the € 500 check that I've been to repair the flood. I thank you and with the 500 € notes received Flayosquet amap of the costs incurred on the plot apple trees are covered. With under the MSA, we can deal calmly in the second plot completely devastated. THANK

...... and then last Friday, with a strong team, we covered the greenhouse that I bought secondhand (we had dismantled, transported and reassembled each time with teams highly specialized) for the first rotation of tomatoes.

is a great moment. It's a greenhouse that is designed to make a big vent on the sides. But the blow is more buried the plastic that holds it all, since it is not buried, but determined on a rod which itself is fixed on the poles.

Therefore mooring poles. And therefore to ask the plastic is not the same story. In theory, I knew it! For the practice I was very anxious. But hey, the team was on top and even better time! Sunshine and heat that we just laid the plastic on the hoops!

oh it's still a lap of 38m x 10.5 m! one puts the world at the table! And we were only 6. Then moments like that, I can tell you it was worth a good drink that was quick taste.

And if, in the gardens, I'm late. With all the rain whenever it starts to go, I started very late and there are things I did not. It's true that the paperwork is substantial. I frame all for the 2011 season. It is in the estimation of working hours at the controls of seeds through the verification of insurance contracts. There are things that go it alone, others less. And then, there is what I would do, how to do it and suddenly priorities. Because we must not dream too much anyway. It's still not even being peasant amap that can explode on the rise and the investment! No it's rikiki after another! Is patience and humility, but also the acceptance of uncertainty, the stubborn will. And then, gradually, it takes shape! But the reality of which I am very proud in this concept is what happened around the flooding, this human connection is so powerful, it is my firm that exists and grows with the will of all and each c is that since 2009, my pay is up to my needs and it is still the second season and this season I have not encroached on it to finish the year. To me this is really a great hope in our daily lives, our future. Opposite it, the precariousness of the facilities and stuff, patience and humility is not much ...... and then the consciousness of the good fortune to live what appears to me, you will be there with you as it may be, the consciousness of the strength of our Mother Earth and what it conveys, the consciousness that each of us, that every plant, every insect, is a part of this whole and that my part of this brand is so important as each of your units.

yesterday we planted 12 poles in 1 / 2 hour (for the new line
apple)

in 2008, he had to organize a project, raise children, etc. ....
to put 50 pegs .. manners were not the same

I wish everyone that your sentence was formed in 2011!!

I wish you from my heart to see what a first week of 2011 with happiness, joy, peace and recognition and all those that follow will give you that little something that makes such great things.
Thank you all thank you to everyone for daring that other possible

s it, we are young farmers!

Our case is passed to committee (CDOA) Tuesday, December 14 and has been validated. So we can officially start working!

But do not believe that the obstacle course is finished! We must now return to the timing of the various committees and budgets. We also had a narrow escape, because we almost have to wait until March or April before you can unlock our loans ... for vegetables in April! a history of crazy!

Indeed, the young farmers are subsidized loans by the state and are far more stringent than conventional loans. Records of funding must go through the Departmental Territories and the Sea and it takes at least one month from the moment you made the request to release the funds. Except that we had not warned that the deadline for returning the loan package in 2010 was 15 December and that after this date, it was not until the quota setting and envelopes, 2011, ... scheduled between approximately January and March!

Finally, by dint of Loved son from each other, we have an extra week to prepare the file. So we just pushed our bankers and we spent four hours Friday to complete and sign the papers! We cross our fingers that nothing is missing and that our password file!

meantime, we started creating our society (EARL Garden Berlincan). We wrote the articles, we have registered with taxes, we opened a bank account and we placed an advertisement in a newspaper legal notices. The goal is to file the paperwork for registration society at the Center for Business Formalities (CFE) in the middle of next week (before going on holiday).

We still continue writing and sign the lease, provide a whole bunch of papers, fill out some forms ... than joy!

We must also complete files for grant applications to pass on the next commission award. These are grants to be very specific, and until we have had no response on the amount awarded, we can not resolve investments, or even order the hardware for which we ask assistance. We're stuck!

All administrative work really asking a lot of time and energy, we can not devote to fieldwork.

We still managed to put together a production greenhouse, under which we hope to sow and plant-soon-carrots, turnips and a small part of the leeks.

We also planted in plates of salads and chard will follow soon.

the next few days we will put pictures of recent weeks. Happy holidays to those who and good luck for others.

very hivervale On this day, it's party at bagotière. 77 youth and adults came to graduate during a ceremony chaired by Mrs VINCLET, director of the nursing home to orchids and Mr Cagny DZIRUA, director of schools Our Lady of Thury Harcourt.

is in a festive atmosphere, and in the presence of their parents, tutors and trainers, young people have been honored to crown this success. The course of the ceremony was both solemn and warm.

Graduates have taken an important step in their training. Some have received the national certificate, others CAPA services in rural areas. Was also awarded the BEPA Secretarial home or personal services. For others, it was the baccalaureate professional secretarial accounting, or even the assistant BTS Management SME.

After congratulating the young, Mr Francois, President of LIM Bagotière and Ms. Valerie Davignon, Director, encouraged them to go further in their careers, to continue their education, adding: "The important thing is have a project and be motivated. "

"The diploma is an important step. It can go further because, at school as in life, we must constantly adapt, learning to progress. The services sector is booming. Your skills, experience gained in alternation, will facilitate your employability, because we need young, skilled and qualified, "Ms. VINCLET.

In June 2010, 75% of candidates presented to a review were graduates. They are more likely to continue their training after a first step to success. So after BEPA, nearly 70% fall in first class to prepare for a baccalaureate degree. These excellent rates Success is not the only ones, as these young people are now more than 90% had an activity (employment or training).

These figures alone demonstrate the merits of alternate training which not only allows each youth to train, qualify, obtain a diploma but also fit into the workplace through to experience.

Automatic Starter For Gas Fireplace

The installation steps - the Economic Development Plan

Let
where we left things ...

In previous posts, we had told the first administrative steps that we performed. Regarding the essential steps before being declared settled, we were moved several times by the Chamber of Agriculture, for different diagnoses, we completed our experience in each passing a season in an organic gardener different, and we made the course "21 h" (3 days training) during which we met other young people being installed, and some players who we have to do as future farmers (MSA, agricultural credit, public administration, ...).

The next step, which took several months, and affects almost at its end today, is the development of the Economic Development Plan (BDP).

This is to develop a predictive accounting for 5 years, which will be presented to the bank that will finance the Young Farmer Loan, which will then be heard in the Chamber of Agriculture, to be presented in CDOA (County Commission Orientation Agricole) with the rest of our dossier.

The EDP must be conducted with a management center approved. We had to make up numbers, they then worked and shaped. We were told that bringing these figures would be fast enough, but given the complexity of the activity we have chosen, if we want to do something that is pretty much the road, take the time to build the project.

Very often in gardening, we first determine a plan of rotation to see what we can produce, ie the surfaces are fixed for each crop that is wishes to practice, depending on available plots. It then reflects on how to market production. This reasoning is much simpler than the reverse.

However, as we begin our business with a large proportion of the outlets in AMAP, and to optimize the contents of the baskets, we reasoned the other way:

We knew had a minimum of 40 to 50 contracts AMAP (1 basket per week per contract) per farmer in order to sustain our business. We selected 50 contracts to supply the first year, plus the equivalent volume of 25 contracts for sale at the farm. From the second year, we will go to 80 contracts, maintaining the same volume of vegetables sold at the farm.

From there, we developed all the baskets, week by week over an entire year, while looking in the seed catalogs Bio, to see which vegetables could be produced for each period. We fixed the quantities each vegetable for each basket so that it is appropriate for a family of 3 to 4 people.

For direct sales, we have not always kept the same proportions as for the baskets: some traditional vegetables available in larger quantities, such as potatoes, others in smaller quantities, or a shorter period, such as beans and raw zucchini, and some are not designed for direct sales and will be reserved for AMAP, like strawberries and asparagus.

We calculated the areas necessary for sowing or planting each crop, and the quantities of seeds and seedlings to buy. For this, we took into account average yields obtained in organic gauges possible for planting each crop, and possible losses during cultivation (pests, diseases, poor germination, weather) or after harvest (during storage ).

We then selected a large number of varieties of each vegetable, in order to estimate the cost of seeds and seedlings. We will not buy very few plants, because the cost is very important because the choice of varieties available is quite restricted: in bioinformatics, there is a major supplier for transplants, and it works mainly with F1 hybrid varieties (though some would like, we can justify our preference for non-hybrid varieties in another message). In return, we know that self-produce their own transplants requires a lot of work and discipline, a knowledge which we do not yet exist and that we risk loss before planting ... but for now, the results of our seedlings are quite satisfactory.

We assessed the remaining operating costs (fertilization, crop protection, fuel, equipment maintenance and buildings, staff costs, ... ).

Finally, we had to quantify the investments required over the next five years. For the instruction of our record, it must provide all the quotes for all investments. In one recent posts, we mentioned that we would have to drill again. This is part of the expenses that were not foreseen at the start and it took us to encrypt the last minute.

Small note in brackets, for drilling, we also had to start the procedures for reporting and application for withdrawal of water. In order to have this authorization, we will have to make an impact study by a private consultant. Price tag .... € 3,000 (excluding taxes, of course). This is just one example among many that illustrates the obstacles that may arise during an installation. We understand that many are deterred from moving! In short, the end of the bracket.

We have (almost) met all these figures and estimates, we shared a lot with the person who makes our Economic Development Plan, and we first met the banker in charge of Credit Agricole installation files. Again, one wonders how young people who start from nothing and who want to move can get there. We leave on a loan that is around € 60 000 for two. Most of the time, setup projects far exceed € 100 000 loan for one person. There is an organization, the SIAGI which a fee will guarantee up to 30% of the loan amount after considering the matter. If SIAGI endorses, the Regional Council will guarantee you 30% more. The banker has insisted that it provides a guarantee or bond the remaining 40%, totaling 100% Guarantee! How can a young person who has almost nothing and does not engage the responsibility of a loved one?

Our case will be presented to the Chamber of Agriculture next week and will be approved or not by the bank in early December, then it will go before the County Commission Orientation of Agriculture on December 15.

meantime, we have theoretically not allowed to begin to operate, since to be considered young farmers and be eligible for installation aid, we must be deemed non-installed. In the meantime, we must prepare early spring crops, but ... shhh! say nothing, it is not official ...

What Is The Average Milage Of A Harley Engine

Some new ground

It has been nearly a month since we have not published anything. What has happened since that time?

We return at greater length in an upcoming post on the following steps to install, this obstacle course in which we started, but in the meantime, here are some new ground.

late October, the family of Adrian fell from Mayenne to help us in removing greenhouses. Construction site in 4 days that we have really progressed well. On the 5 greenhouses departure, the fact remains that a standing, and already débâchée. Almost everything else is back on the farm. Thank you to Philip Gerard and Kevin, who went down, and Daniel, who has once again helped.

We then proceeded to finish preparing the plots in order to cultivate them. Bad luck, our tractor had a small technical problem (water pump), so major repairs performed by Gilles, who has also made good breakdown service in much of the plowing plots with his own tractor.

Behind that, we suffered the vagaries of weather, ie, small storms and heavy rainfall, which does in fact are still not arrested. We were already late, this does not help matters. Indeed, we had spread manure on all plots, a fertilizer plant and then to winter (oats). But with all this rain, you can not go on most plots, or to get manure in quantity. We therefore épandrons manure output and winter oats we sow directly accessible on the plots, because we are the limitation period for sowing.

Meanwhile, we also finished up our greenhouse plants, which is now covered wagon and was able to welcome our first planting: leeks, onions, and artichokes, waited in a temporary shelter in the garden of the house , and we have also planted rhubarb.

artichoke seedlings

leek seedlings

In the field, we planted the first half of the beans, and we planted garlic and Aillet. For non-Bordeaux, the Aillet is young garlic is eaten with the onset of bulb formation, with some leaves. It can be eaten raw sliced in salads, or cooked, including omelettes.

Planting garlic and Aillet with Jocelyne's mother, Fanny

So much for field work. Once we have time we will write a long message on the galleys of the installation.

Regarding the establishment of the AMAP of Hailsham, a date was decided for the general assembly. For people interested who would not come to the first meetings, or who have not been contacted again, you can send an email to the following address: amap@lehaillan.org

Kristal Summers Thanksgiving

I never saw it coming! I went to Latvia with Sylvain to finish the work started in February 2009, I returned yesterday afternoon and now it is autumn.
The rain this weekend and the cold of the night stopped the strawberries. I dread that moment. It takes an infinite time to mature. It remains in the gardens of grapes, wine grape and a final set of apples. I hope
distribute another 10 to 15 days.
I thank Stephanie and Yann, and all who came amapiens help while I was doing the amap in Latvia with Sylvain. I remind you that we had begun swarming over there mandated by the International Association Urgenci. Mission accomplished: 3 amap in road and pair of reviewers for the spin! It gave me a little taste of the holidays! But it is not finished in the gardens. Is everything back in order for the winter.
I also wanted to thank everyone who rallied around Foratge and Bertin. I'm on my computer all the workshops and advanced .... I am even more convinced by our concept amap. So many supporters, actions. For my part, the efforts we've made just after the flooding, helped to complete the harvest apple tree.

I just fill in the MSA record on this. Records disasters must be returned before Oct. 18. Very good and

beautiful fall.

balances and figures
He must be! Figures to be compared with the feeling! Balances for open discussions, to calm his fears, gain courage! In any case, I need to pause on picture to give me the impetus for the new season: Fall is right. The first of the new year is fast and there is a signal of the new season too! The first rotation is planted to tomato January 15.

Figures:
* The evaluations tell us about your feelings of the season. They must bring their response rates. 67% of you are bound to this task, I thank them. Of these 67%, 5.5% did not intend to renew the contract for the 2011 season. 35% of them were personally affected by the floods! Strawberries are excellent with 76.4% felt, tomatoes, grapes, figs to 48.6%! 52.7% were too tomatillos and 66.6% not enough fishing. 11% find melons and 6.9% bad apples. If you encrypt other interest, they are available.

* Over the distributions, I found that some products remain as we have taken time to cultivate and harvest them! I think setting up a crate exchange: a cage into which I put on some crops and in which you use it and put what you do not want. This way you can balance your preferences.
* Compared to the same contract prices (2010 = 107contrats, contracts in 2009 = 112)

fruits appear! With diversity of figs, 2kg per contract, but greengage, apricot, raspberry.

* In financial terms, the estimate was given, both in terms of investments than expenses. My income has been up to what we had hoped. The only costs are overflow caused by flooding. They are currently 1000 euros. I anticipate at least another 700 euros this winter for restoration of the second plot. The AMAP in Dracénie gave me a check for 500 euros. I refused the gift of Colibri 83 which collects donations of amap. I think much more affected farmers most in need. Anyway, thank you from my heart. We were able to realize this concept as amap exceeds the contract.
* In terms of working time, the goal was to reduce my workload in the most difficult months (March-July). The result is not satisfactory in the sense that for a little under the contract, the overall working time is almost the same! There was flooding in a busy period took about 100 hours all confused. An intern this season has been a relief on the work of 'heavy'! The season has been condensed and despite my desire to spread best work, the difficult months could not be alleviated. It's good that limit them with their workload than the number of contracts.

time distribution of Isabelle is not taken into account and corresponds to about 6.5h per week! On the season, about 156h.

* From September to September rainfall an idea! And hence the constraints for our cultures and our bodies! I give you examples of two other years. You understand that the work and the requirements are different and that it will not just happen to go from one to the other! When I began to understand the drought and its requirements, that we are going in the other extreme.
September 2009 to August 2010, he fell on Peissonnel 1129mm of water with 316 in June / / on my terrace in the village in 1061
September 2008 to August 2009, he fell on Peissonnel 1096mm water with 9.5 in June / / on my terrace in the village in 1146
September 2005 to August 2006, he fell on Peissonnel 497mm water with 1 in June / / on my terrace in the village 475
* This season has been tough! One for 7 years has given many satisfactions: 2006. It started easily even if it was less than 2009. The drainage system has raised some fisheries, but also has a good annual shoot, which will start a beautiful 2011. That means there will be a bit more in the trash the next season if I get my treatments well and the gel is not too early. This season, I have not lit the candles in peach. The manufacturing plant was a success and help diversify the work Stephanie and take refuge in the shelter when it gets too cold or too wet! melon crops were difficult at first and second rotation. I chose the earliest variety, but have exploded! Perhaps too much water! Quality has not always been at the rendezvous. Melons in custody, call melons keep all those varieties that improve after harvest: Ball Gold, White Antibes, Canary, Olive Green, Turkish, etc. ... it is hard to put yourself for distribution a lot of the same age! You must learn the right time of tasting! Sometimes it must be consumed within days and you can wait another 10 or even 20 days!! The secret is good look and ask if this is the time to delight the taste buds. This is also why it appears to defaults on the quality of melons. When the squash on St. John, I remind you that I am 'guardian' of this variety. And it is imperative to continue to seed. I grow one type of squash, there are no crosses in my garden for squash. And suddenly I make you enjoy! The fig, Peissonnel, finally, those who survived (they are next to the peach and have suffered the same fate) welcomed me in their diversity. Two varieties seem very interesting for drying. Finally, part of my project seems to have some chance of success! I mean the use of multi greenhouse to dry fruit. Well there is not the quantity! the first apple crop of beautiful parcel of Peissonnel also offers hope to extend the distribution period. What great opportunities to give me courage! I was given this seventh season as a turning point for the life of my farm. I am happy, excited and so happy that my utopia seems to be true! Thank you from my heart for your support, your perseverance, your confidence. You come with me every day in this great task that is to harvest the food that the earth offers us.
* With the season ending, it's also new is coming. The work is to achieve less in a hurry, but we must be vigilant to still make it happen! For example: move a piece of electric fence because in the current situation, maintenance is difficult and I waste time! or now that I've finally been able to upgrade the well water supply, install the fence all around! All the stuff is there waiting! Or improve ditches so that water flows better. Or change the claws worn down to the frame, prune the trees along the roads and crops, etc ... and then I bought used a greenhouse, I have to disassemble before November 30 and back to Rondin . Therefore I prepare the place. Etc. ...
Then it is also the time when I can take a little time for myself! And that's really good!
